Event Details
Ever wonder how soldiers can jump out of airplane and glide gently down using a parachute? Or maybe you've seen thrill seekers fly through the sky on giant kites and asked how they can stay up for so long. For this NC Science Festival program, we will explore why! We will learn about the forces of gravity and air resistance as we design our own working parachute to safely drop our "para-jumper" safely to the ground.
This event is part of the North Carolina Science Festival, a statewide celebration of STEM. You can find more events like this all month long at ncscifest.org.
Registration is required by calling 910-483-7727 ext. 1481 or registering online.
