Mystery Book Club: The Shadow District

In wartime Reykjavík, an Icelandic detective and a U.S. military policeman investigate the murder of a young woman in the dangerous "shadow district." Decades later, retired detective Konrad looks into the smothering death of a 90-year-old man. When he discovers newspaper clippings about the WWII case in the victim's home, he begins to unravel the connection between the two crimes—one from the past and one in the present.
