Picture it: Fayetteville, 1986. As Bordeaux Community Library opened its new location on Village Drive, twenty-one million people were spending their Saturday nights at home watching the first season of the pop culture phenomenon that would soon earn a young Betty White (only 64 at the time!) an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series - The Golden Girls. To thank you for being a friend of the Bordeaux Community Library for 40 years, we’re wrapping up our anniversary festivities with the show that’s gotten so many of us through good times and bad. We’ll have three episodes along with bingo, trivia and, of course, cheesecake. Costumes and '80s attire welcome, but are not required.
