This month's read is Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly.

Hidden Figures (PG; 2016) is a #1 New York Times bestseller that tells the untold true story of African American women mathematicians who played a pivotal role in NASA's space program during the civil rights movement. These "Human Computers," segregated from their white colleagues, calculated flight paths that enabled historic space missions, including the moon landing. Hidden Figures spans from World War II to NASA's golden age, exploring themes like the Space Race, the Cold War, civil rights and women’s rights, while highlighting the courageous contributions of five trailblazing women who changed history.
