In the 2050s, Earth is gradually being abandoned. The wealthy and privileged have fled the major cities of the United States for the comfort of space colonies. Those left behind scavenge what they can from the crumbling infrastructure, struggling to survive as their neighborhoods are dismantled. Piece by piece, their homes are disassembled and shipped to the colonies, becoming quaint relics for the colonists—a nostalgic reminder of the world they helped destroy.
